Are Below Ground Box (BGB) systems available with a motorised option?

No — all Below Ground Box (BGB) systems are manual only.

We do not recommend or offer powered below-ground versions due to the operating environment. The underground housing is subject to high moisture levels, and in some cases may be exposed to groundwater or flooding, which can significantly reduce the lifespan and reliability of motorised components.

In addition, operating a pool cover from a BGB system requires the user to be poolside to:

• Open the lid, and

• Pull the cover out of the pool onto the roller

Even if a motor were fitted, these manual steps would still be required. This means the benefit of motorisation is minimal, while introducing additional cost and maintenance risk. There is also no practical disengage system available for redeploying the cover manually.

What if I want a fully automatic pool cover system?

For fully automatic operation (both opening and closing), we recommend our Hard Slat Cover Systems.

These systems provide:

• Push-button operation (on and off the pool)

• Fully enclosed, water-safe motorisation

• Premium finish and convenience

While this represents a higher upfront investment, it delivers a true automatic solution with improved ease of use and long-term reliability.
